Learning about Myanmar

We have built up a good relationship with partners in this country- You can find out more here. This week we have a visit from CK Hrang Tiam.  Join us on Thursday night to meet CK and here a little of his story.

About CK

CK is the principal of Myanmar Evangelical Graduate School of Theology (MEGST) in Yangon.  CK completed his MTh at SAIACS, Bangalore, India, in 1998-99, before being recruited as the very first full-time lecturer at MEGST.  He has taught full time ever since, with one study leave, during which time he spent  in the library at Laidlaw College, catching up on the latest reading in his specialist areas, working on a popular level book in his own ‘mother tongue,’ and preaching in various cities in NZ.  CK is very committed to MEGST.  He and his wife, Rebecca, have a small children’s home in their own home, as an integral part of their life’s ministry together.  Here is a clip about CK.

About MEGST

MEGST has a vision to train and equip Christians to be Christ-like leaders who build up the church and the nation of Myanmar and beyond; that these leaders will be committed to the people of Myanmar, ready to reach the unreached and competent to train the trainers.

MEGST was born on 17 June 1996 through the vision of the Myanmar Evangelical Christian Alliance (MECA), to fulfill the long awaited desire to offer graduate and post graduate programs for the Church of Myanmar. It is an evangelical and inter-denominational seminary with students and faculty coming from various Bible-believing churches across the country. MEGST is located in Shwegondine, Bahan Township, Yangon City.
