Elder
Andrew Stewart
Andrew and Sue moved to the Porirua area in 1996 and started attending the church in Mana before it relocated to Whitby. Andrew is a Freelance Sound Mixer in the Television and Events Industry, and they have a family of two, Kate and Jack. Along with being an Elder, Andrew has a passion to teach God’s word in a way that all those who hear can understand and apply it to their lives.
Elder
Bruce Stormer
Bruce has been attending since 1993, when it was still Mana Bible Chapel. Bruce is married to Ruth and has a family of four, Nicole, Luke, Tom and Josh As well as being an elder, Bruce is a director in a Chartered Accountancy firm and serves as a trustee in several charitable trusts. He has a passion for missions and leadership.
Elder
Alistair Eves
Alistair and Lynda are our longest standing church members and serve in many areas of the church. They have four adult children and many grandchildren! Alistair serves as part of the eldership team and takes care of our church buildings. They also look after our Small Groups and Pastoral Care team – among other things.
Elder/ Tools and Training
Eric Ulm
Eric joined us in 2017 after moving to New Zealand from the States. He is married to Chana and they have four adult children. Eric is part of the eldership team and also leads our Tools and Training team – ensuring we have quality resources available to us as we seek to become more like Jesus. In his day job Eric is a professor of Actuarial Science at Victoria University.
Pastoral Care
Lynda Eves
Lynda looks after our Pastoral Care ministries, and alongside her husband Alistair looks after our Small Groups and Anchor Aweigh – our ministry for those who are over 60.
Operations Team Leader
Peter Munro
As well as helping to keep our church functioning well by leading our Operational Team, Peter also leads our Vision Implementation Team and our Leadership Development Team.
Communication
Kathryn Lawson
Kathryn looks after our church communication and is on our staff team. She is married to Geoff, and they have three wonderful adult children. They have been part of The Anchor since moving to Porirua in 1992.
Sunday Services Team
Sandy Leadbeater
Sandy looks after our Sunday Services team – doing the big job of looking after the wonderful team who keep everything running smoothly on a Sunday morning.
Youth
Andrea Legg
Andrea has the joy of looking after our lovely youth and our youth team. She is also on our staff team. She is married to André.
Children and Families
Christine Leadbeater
Chris has been serving in Children’s ministry for a lot of years now. She joined the staff team in February 2013 and is the Children and Families Director at The Anchor. Chris serves on the Sunday Morning Anchor Kids team, and also on the mainly music team leading the Wednesday Session (and occasionally Thursday as well). Chris is passionate about teaching and learning alongside the children and young people who will be our next generation of church leaders. She loves being…

Erin Robinson
Erin leads an awesome team that runs two Mainly Music sessions each week. She cares deeply for all our preschoolers in our community.
