Leadership Team

Lynda looks after our Pastoral Care ministries, and alongside her husband Alistair looks after our Small Groups and Anchor Aweigh – our ministry for those who are over 60.

Kathryn looks after our church communication and is on our staff team. She is married to Geoff, and they have three wonderful adult children. They have been part of The Anchor since moving to Porirua in 1992.

Sandy looks after our Sunday Services team – doing the big job of looking after the wonderful team who keep everything running smoothly on a Sunday morning.

Chris has been serving in Children’s ministry for a lot of years now. She joined the staff team in February 2013 and is the Children and Families Director at The Anchor.  Chris serves on the Sunday Morning Anchor Kids team, and also on the mainly music team leading the Wednesday Session (and occasionally Thursday as well). Brittany looks after our Sunday morning Anchor Kids programme – catering for kids from 3 years old to those in year 8. Brittany is mum to four of her own kids and is married to Tyson.

Erin leads an awesome team that runs two Mainly Music sessions each week.  She cares deeply for all our preschoolers in our community.

Kirsten looks after our Next Gen ministry – our lovely year 7 and 8’s.

Luke chairs the team that oversees the youth program at the Anchor. Luke and his wife Rachel joined the Anchor in 2004 looking for a church to start a family in. Because of Luke’s previous experience in youth ministry he was promptly roped into helping run the youth program at the Anchor Church. Since then, Luke has been involved in various capacities at the Anchor church and has 3 teenage children.

Andrea has the joy of looking after our lovely youth and our youth team. She is also on our staff team. She is married to André.

Dennis, Sujala and family joined us in 2021 after moving from Dubai. Dennis has the big job of looking after our special events team – the team in charge of Christmas, Easter and Church Camp.

Alistair and Lynda are our longest standing church members and serve in many areas of the church. They have four adult children and many grandchildren! Alistair serves as part of the eldership team and takes care of our church buildings. They also look after our Small Groups and Pastoral Care team – among other things.

Geoff looks after our mission relationships and also leads our community engagement team. He is married to Kathryn, and they have three wonderful adult children. They have been part of The Anchor since moving to Porirua in 1992.
