And we’re back.

Hello Everyone,

We have touched down in a very cold Wellington. The team is happy and healthy, but I think ready for bed. We will no doubt have lots to share with you all about our experience over the next few weeks. Thank you for all your support in making this possible for the 14 of us to go.

God bless,
Brad

Painting The Roses Red (DAY 11)

Hey hey hey Laur and Jess here!

Hope You havn fun in the cold weather down in good old NZ, today i have to say would of been one of the HOTEST days  we have had yet.

Today we painted the water tank! yay fun stuff, it was very hot work but it was so much fun, we all got covered in paint … shows we were working really hard:)It was awesome to see  the whole team working together so well. It was my job (Laura) to design one wall and the side i got was the main one! i got help from others and we had great fun doing that in the end we did a flower type thing and it was back, purple and white !  it looks mint, im sure you will see some cool picz when we get back! after we had almost finished  we got called to a lovely lunch, we didnt know that we were going to be getting presents/gifts from them  which was so nice of them, again we will show you when we get back just how amazinthey look. we gave them 2 really big bags full of diffrent things including clothes and some balls! kai kai was really good!

(Jess)

Then we Relaxed under a tree for aout ten minutes, before we started the final touches on the tank paint. Erica was really good at painting!! we then wrote a bible verse in bislamic on the tank and took heaps of photos with all the kids and Sam and Emilie, and Wade, Erica and Dave. it was really sad having to leave Laura cried which made me cry a bit too.  when we drove down the road from Eratap, the kids thew leaves into our truck and we threw lollies back. It was really scary because some lollies landed in front of the truck and a kid named Jeremy ran out in front of it. he was ok though :) . when we got back toEfalfal, most of us swam or walked along the beach. Our dinner was COLD !!! it was great… Anyway, overall today was really fun and really exciting but sad too. and now we are sitting on Johns bed. ;)

later fellas :)

Jess and Laura.

xx

Josh here :) day 10!!!!

Hey guy’s josh here with whats the low down on. . .  heres the full blog cause the internet stuffed up . . . .  Hey guy’s josh here with whats the low down on the day. First off well we all got up, someone made a bad mistake by giving Jordan a air horn and he has told us he will go into each room and let that thing off, Any way i went to blacks sands for a second time and this was also the last day that people got to go so it was quite touching to see all the kids for the last time a few got a bit sad with this thought. At the end of black sands the whole team had prepaird a bag of goodies for the schools which brad handed over at the end, they were so grateful of what they had just got given. When we had retured to the village we had  lunch then straight back into building the roof for the tank :) . We also had sports day today we had a range of sports like soccer, (football,  john would go nuts if you said soccer so put that in there just in case :) ) Tug-Of-War, this one where you had a cup and a bucket of water two teams and had to fill up the other bucket across the field (any name for it???). after the sports day it was back to building and the after school program don’t know what happened in the after school program since i was working with jordan ruth polly and laura painting the base coat for the tank, we also had a little paint down of the people that we’re by the tank so Jordan, Antony, Ruth and i think polly and I we’re painted. After the day had finished we got back into the truck and everyday the kids would run down the hill gather leaves and flowers AND WATER NOW!!! (after we did it to them) and then throw it at us when driving down the hill we would get soaked from there water then covered in the leaves. When we had retured to our place of rest Jordan, Alex, Faye and myself went for a nice wash down in the sea followed by a dive then got back into shore had tea and chilled out for the rest of the night :) :)

So thats me say HI TO MUM AND DAD FOR ME XXX

PEACE YO!!!!!!!!!!

Day whatever day we are up to. vanuatu

Hello.

Antony’s account

Today I went to Eratap village and started to help with the building.  Me and Faye helped Sam (the builder) to put up the guttering on the church so that water can flow into the water tank.  Meanwhile everyone else sat there in the shade organising things. (Totally unfair if you ask me).  A little bit after that wade (YWA dude) got me, jordan and meg to go with him to pray for a woman.  So we went up to this house lead by my home dog karlo (a ni-van I have befriended).  He asked the people at the house if we could come in and then left.  Then a young ish woman (probably in her late teens) came and welcomed us in to her home. We sat down on these mat things. and then I saw this elderly woman make her way the mats from outside.  She was quite large and very frail.  Her husband then explained that she had had a stroke.  We  lay hands on her and prayed for a good ten min.  It was really sweet.  Had to have be my God moment for the day. Then we painted one of the walls.  Thats all we really did so yeah we should finish the tank by tomorrow possibly.

Antony

Holiday Program – Days 1 and 2

Hello Church Family :-)

Well Day 2 of the RunRIG Holiday programme is finished now with 73 kids today (Tues) and 68 yesterday (Mon). In a continuation of last year’s programme, we are being reunited with Billy the Bushman and Kimi and Kelly the Kiwis. Only this year the Kiwis have stowed away in Billy’s bag and have found themselves in Australia, and are locked in quarantine.

We have an AMAZING team (as usual) and the kids are really enjoying the awesome craft and games, as well as building relationships with their small group leaders. The team are all dressed in Anchor Kids T -Shirts which makes the team easy to identify as well as promoting Anchor Kids to the community.

Please pray for the rest of the week; that all goes smoothly; for health for the team; for a week free of injuries; that the kids will go away knowing that Jesus loves them and that some (or many) of them will come and join Anchor Kids the following week.

If any of you are free and passing the church this week, please do drop in and see what we are doing. We’ve had a couple of visitors already which has been lovely to have people interested in what is happening this week.

We also encourage as many of you as possible to come down to the church on Thursday from 6pm – 7pm. The Family night is a great chance for parents of these kids to meet lots of people from The Anchor. We’ll even feed you chocolate biscuits and ice cream :-)

Thanks for taking an interest in the children by reading, praying and visiting.

Blessings

Sandy, Chris, Pete and the Team

Day 9

Today was a pretty intense day :-D ! I (Alex) finaly got to go to Black Sands, which was AMAZING! The kids there are just so happy with the little that they have, it just goes to show that material possesions mean nothing in this world. After being in Black Sands for only 5 minutes, I already had two kids just attach themselves to my arms, and simply would not let go till I had to leave 2 hours later. This was the most toucing moment for me so far, so yeah na it was a pretty good day, quite tired so off to bed…..say hello to my Mum for me!
