Shooting Stars are coming to The Anchor – July 11th – 7.00pm with Tear Fund.
The ‘Shooting Stars’ duo of Ben Claxton and Dave Barr are two of the most popular and influential Christian musicians in New Zealand today. Their music – two acoustic guitars, strong melodies and rich harmonies – is enjoyed by both young and old, appealing to a wide audience.. The ‘Stars’ have been crowd favourites at the Parachute Festival for a number of years and enjoy a massive fan base across the country. You can listen to music at http://www.myspace.com/shootingstarsnz .
Joining ‘Shooting Stars’ is “Mr Compassion” himself, Roger Ellem. An ordained Baptist minister and a former missionary in Bangladesh, Roger is a engaging story-teller who has dedicated his life to caring for children living in poverty. Roger will be travelling with ‘Shooting Stars’ helping TEAR Fund tell the story of the incredible change child sponsorship can make when we choose to invest in the lives of children in need.
“Roger Ellem is a champion for children, a hero of the faith and a pioneer for compassion—not just the organisation, but the true meaning of the word.” – Darlene Zschech, Hillsong worship leader
