My Heavenly Friend

My Heavenly Friend from http://www.georgemuller.org/devotional/my-heavenly-friend The precious Lord Jesus Christ is our friend.  Let us seek to realise this!  It is not merely a religious phrase or statement, but truly He is our friend. He is the Brother “born for adversity”, the one who “sticks closer than a brother.” Who will never leave and never forsake us. How precious even on earth to have a heavenly friend, for this brings the joys of heaven in a little degree into our hearts…

Last year Nick Willis shared his story one night at church – tonight he runs again at the Olympics.  His faith in Jesus is important to who he is as an athlete, husband and father.  He won Bronze – with the silver medal he won in the same event at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, it makes Willis New Zealand’s first ever multiple medallist in the 1500m. He also becomes the oldest podium-finisher there has been in the event’s long…

Easter – what is it all about

What is Easter all about? Each week at our church, we look back at the sacrifice of Christ through communion. The taking of the emblems, bread and wine, symbolizes the body of Christ and the shedding of His blood for the forgiveness of the believer’s sin. Each emblem contributes to a stark reminder of the sacrifice Jesus undertook so that we who believe might have the hope (assurance) of eternal life in heaven. Easter likewise is another reference point when…
