A New Year

When we think of the New Year ahead, I wonder what our priorities will include. We know from past experiences there will be financial, physical, relational, emotional needs. In all of those needs we are required to decide whether God is at the centre of all things. To submit to Christ as the head of the Church is not as easy as it should be, yet we are required to recognise His majesty and authority. So in order to do that we seek to love and adore Him far above…

This Sunday with Karl Udy

This Sunday  We have Karl Udy speaking on Sunday morning on the unchanging gospel in a changing world. Karl works for Tandem Ministries as a digital media specialist.  Why digital?  Because our community is communicating this way, the new generations understand and expect technology, and feel free to switch at any time – a recent presentation said people switch media 27 times a day! This is a challenge and a huge opportunity. We all want to see the gospel change the lives of…

When our team was praying and sharing ideas about what we can do in 2016, one of them was to have this womens retreat – a weekend away to spend time with the Lord and time together getting to know the women in our community.  Everything has now fallen into place and we look forward to a great time together.…

My Heavenly Friend

My Heavenly Friend from http://www.georgemuller.org/devotional/my-heavenly-friend The precious Lord Jesus Christ is our friend.  Let us seek to realise this!  It is not merely a religious phrase or statement, but truly He is our friend. He is the Brother “born for adversity”, the one who “sticks closer than a brother.” Who will never leave and never forsake us. How precious even on earth to have a heavenly friend, for this brings the joys of heaven in a little degree into our hearts…

Nick Willis – his story

Last year Nick Willis shared his story one night at church – tonight he runs again at the Olympics.  His faith in Jesus is important to who he is as an athlete, husband and father.  He won Bronze – with the silver medal he won in the same event at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, it makes Willis New Zealand’s first ever multiple medallist in the 1500m. He also becomes the oldest podium-finisher there has been in the event’s long…
